International Atom Probe Workshop 2009
Just to start, this little quote:
Stephen Jay Gould
This might have been the motto of this workshop, during which we have questioned and scrutinized the technique we think we know best...

Event Description
To follow up the Atom Probe Workshop in Gothenburg in 2007, New Frontiers of Atom Probe Applications - International Atom Probe Workshop was held from Sun 13th September 2009 to Wed 16th September 2009, in St. Anne's College, Oxford. It was a very successful meeting, with more than 70 people registered, and intensive discussions between scientists working on laser pulsing in atom probe tomography, and many new exciting materials applications.

The various side activities were also successful, including the Monday night roundtable discussion that gathered more than 30 brave people, between 9.30 and 11pm, in the newly refurbished room of the FIM Group at the department of Materials:

Quite a large group of delagates enjoyed the guided tour within the city of Oxford:

And finally, about 30 people came along for a short tour of the Oxford Atom Probe facility OPAL:
